Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a licensed family daycare provider and preschool teacher in Bristol, Rhode Island. About seven years ago, I became certified and licensed as a parent-relationship coach. Combining my passion for professional life and my passion for books, I started writing my book series, The Power Of…, during the pandemic. In the early days of COVID-19–related lockdowns, I sat down on a Zoom call with the children she has devoted her career to for over three decades. Always the glass-half-full type, I decided to write the first installment of my book series, The Power of Positivity: The ABCs of a Pandemic, an ode to the heroes of the pandemic, which inspired my young readers to look at the bright side. The book was translated into Spanish and inspired an activity book and a coloring book.
Thanks to the success of my debut, I was able to write two more books in the series, The Power of Kindness Through the Eyes of Children and The Power of Gratitude, Unlocking Hidden Treasures to highlight traits that will help tomorrow’s generation tackle life’s challenges with a smile and a can-do attitude. What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The Power of Empathy Be the Friend You’ve Always Wanted. I teach pre-school and find Emotions and Empathy is something children need to be taught. Identifying your emotions helps to be more empathic towards yourself and others.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Tom Percival is one children’s book author that I admire. I feel like we have the same vision and use our books message to help teach children.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep your WHY close by. You will need it on this road to publishing. As rewarding as publishing children’s book are, you have many hurdles to overcome. Ultimately, it’s worth seeing children fall in love with your books.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I will continue to write more books in The Power of Series. As parents, grandparents, caregivers, and educators, there are numerous quality traits that we want our children to have. I want to help children have tools they can use in their lives to help them understand themselves and become the best version of themselves they can be.

Any books by Mel Robbins, Jay Shetty and Oprah Winfrey.
