The crux of “The Great God’s War” trilogy is the Last Repository, a vast library. It is threatened by a tyrant who seeks to destroy every form of knowledge he does not control, as all tyrants do. Book One, Seventh Decimate, reveals the library itself. In Book Two, The War Within, the tyrant prepares for his attack while his opponents, King Bifalt and Queen Estie, struggle to devise a defense. This task complicated as much by betrayal as by the ancient enmity between their kingdoms, but Bifalt and Estie also have more personal obstacles to overcome.
